Hangout Planner — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Hangout Planner ("we," "us," or "the app") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

• Account info: when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account identifier, which we use to create and secure your account.
• Content you create: groups you create or join, events you propose or respond to, your RSVP answers, availability windows, friend connections, and event templates.
• Notification data: a push-notification token for your device and your device platform (iOS or Android), used to deliver notifications you enable.
• Technical logs: basic request and error information used to operate and secure the service.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to provide the app's features (accounts, groups, events, RSVPs, availability-based scheduling, reminders), to send notifications you have enabled, and to maintain security and fix problems. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. How We Share Information

• With other users: your name, profile picture, and username are visible to members of groups you join and to your friends, along with the events and RSVPs you create in those groups.
• With service providers who operate the app for us: Google (sign-in), Supabase (database hosting), Fly.io (application hosting), and Expo together with Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging (notification delivery). They process data only to provide these services.
• When required by law.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete Account), which permanently removes your profile and associated content. You may also email us to request deletion.

5. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and authenticated sessions to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

6. Children's Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

7. Your Rights

You may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information depending on where you live. Contact us to exercise them.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes are reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
